Nutrion™ analyzer
A compact device designed for repeated, non-invasive measurement of acetone in exhaled breath.
Nutrion™
Nutrion™ enables repeated, non-invasive measurement of breath acetone outside the laboratory. The system combines a handheld analyzer, guided mobile measurements and centralized data access.

How it works
Breath acetone reflects changes in fat metabolism. Nutrion™ makes it possible to measure this biomarker repeatedly beyond the laboratory, helping users, professionals and researchers observe metabolic patterns over time.

The Alivion Core app guides the user through a consistent breath-sampling procedure.

Nutrion™ analyzes the sample using its integrated gas-chromatographic measurement system.

Results are displayed in the Alivion Core app. Authorized professionals and research teams can review longitudinal data through the web application.

A compact device designed for repeated, non-invasive measurement of acetone in exhaled breath.

Guides the measurement process and presents individual results and trends in an accessible format.

Provides authorized professionals and research teams with centralized access to longitudinal measurement data.
Applications
Follow how nutrition, activity and daily routines are reflected in breath-acetone measurements. The Alivion Core app guides each measurement and makes changes over time easy to understand.
Integrate repeated breath-acetone measurements into structured nutrition or weight-management programs. Longitudinal data can support more informed conversations and individualized guidance.
Collect frequent, non-invasive measurements in field, academic or clinical research settings. Nutrion™ supports longitudinal studies investigating metabolism, nutrition and exercise.
Evidence
The Nutrion™ measurement platform was developed collaboratively by ETH Zurich and Alivion. Peer-reviewed studies have evaluated breath-acetone sensing against established reference methods, including mass spectrometry and blood ketone measurements.
